The Etruscans: From the Heart of Ancient Italy
An 11-minute short documentary for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, built around the challenge of making a large ancient-history subject feel clear, immediate, and human. The film reframes the Etruscans less as a mystery in the shadow of Greece and Rome, and more as a vivid civilization whose art, engineering, religion, language, and everyday objects still feel surprisingly accessible.
The edit carries that argument through a steady progression of ideas and textures: landscapes and archaeological sites, curator interview, museum objects, tomb paintings, inscriptions, and restrained motion graphics. The pacing gives the historical material room to breathe while keeping each section connected, moving from broad context into tactile detail and back out toward the larger legacy.
